Hello, welcome to Glitter & Stitches Vintage. I am Claudia Karim, the owner and creative collector behind G&SV.

I have always been passionate about fashion and vintage clothing for as long as I could remember. As a kid, I remember playing dress-up in my grandmother’s vintage scarves, homemade night gowns and costume jewelry, while covered in the scent of mothballs. At the age of 13, vintage shopping and thrifting became a weekly ritual for my mom and I. Every Saturday, we would head to Newark, NJ and spend the whole day scouring thrift shops, vintage shops, church sales and flea markets for one-of-a-kind vintage gems. And during the week on the way home from high school, I would get lost in my favorite vintage store (at the time) Vintage Mode in Elizabeth, NJ #rip and time travel in their dressing room, imagining all the beautiful places all over the world I would one day get to travel to in my vintage frocks.

Initially I shopped vintage for my personal wardrobe and from there my collection quickly expanded. In 2003, I pursued a degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising and used my vintage archive as design inspiration for my fashion collections and later, other fashion designers I later worked for.

After dedicating 13+ years of my life working in the fashion industry, I constantly found myself longing for something more, something that was my own, thus I launched Glitter & Stitches Vintage (Founded In 2012). I love giving vintage clothing new life again and allowing pieces to create new memories. And I love finding beauty in the unexpected.
